This flag was dedicated to the shrine in the 14th year of Bunka (1817) over 200 years ago. It is made of thick linen fabric and dyed in indigo. There are holes in some parts.
Held at each end by wooden dowels and decorated with hand woven grass tassels. A wonderful example of Japanese folk crafts and culture from this period

It has not been washed, so there may be some dirt etc.
