A sashiko hanten found at an antique market in Japan. The owner said it was made in the 1940s. It is in very good condition and is completely unused deadstock. It features hand-sewn sashiko stitching that crosses regularly, and the indigo-dyed thread stands out impressively against the thick white cotton. Beautifully stitched detail on opening at back, and a superbly made item covered in hand stitch work.
